Key Passage: “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”- 1 John 3:1 (NLT)
4 Reasons why you have been chosen for the Love Movement
1. THE KING HAS CALLED YOU
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, and God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. – 1 Peter 2:9 (NLT)
“Don’t be afraid!” David said. “I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul and you will eat here with me at the king’s table!” – 2 Samuel 9:7 (NLT)
2. THE KING HAS HEALED YOU
We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. – 2 Corinthians 4:7-10 (NLT)
Mephibosheth bowed respectfully and exclaimed, “Who is your servant, that you should show such kindness to a dead dog like me?” – 2 Samuel 9:8 (NLT)
What Has God Healed You From?
3. THE KING HAS CHARGED YOU
The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you. Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts – 2 Corinthians 3:2-3 (NLT)
4. THE KING HAS PROSPERED YOU
“Yes, my lord the king; I am your servant, and I will do all that you have commanded.” And from that time on, Mephibosheth ate regularly at David’s table, like one of the king’s own sons. Mephibosheth had a young son named Mica. From then on, all the members of Ziba’s household were Mephibosheth’s servants. And Mephibosheth, who was crippled in both feet, lived in Jerusalem and ate regularly at the king’s table. – 2 Samuel 9:11-13
